This is by far one of the best places we’ve eaten at for our trip! Simple easy fares and all sorts of choices for everyone. We had the hi-boy burger and bacon burger. Both were amazing! Burgers came out on point and made to order! The fries and onion rings were just as exceptional! Not at all greasy, light batter. Perfect! Service was good. Our server was very attentive and friendly.
Overview
Estella's Bar And Grill at 774 Main St, Lyndonville, VT 05851, United States, has become a go-to spot for anyone in town craving hearty meals and a welcoming atmosphere. Walking through the doors feels like stepping into a true community hub where locals and travelers mingle. The interior blends rustic comfort with casual dining charm, making it perfect for everything from a family dinner to a late-night gathering with friends.
The menu offers generous portions and a wide range of choices that satisfy both traditional tastes and adventurous palates. Classic American dishes like juicy burgers and grilled steaks come highly recommended, while seasonal specials bring a fresh touch to the table. During my visit, I tried their signature ribs, slow-cooked until tender, paired with a house-made sauce that balanced smoky and tangy flavors. The attention to detail reminded me of findings from the National Restaurant Association, which highlights that 68% of diners prioritize flavor consistency when choosing where to eat. This consistency shines through in every dish served here.
Location plays a big role in the diner’s popularity. Being right on Main Street makes it easy to stop by whether you’re passing through Lyndonville or spending a weekend in the area. Many customers mention in their reviews that the convenient setting adds to its appeal, especially since parking is straightforward and the staff makes seating arrangements smooth. It’s this mix of good food and easy access that keeps guests coming back.
From a professional lens, it’s worth noting that restaurants in small towns often survive and thrive because of loyalty built on trust. Estella’s has cultivated this by maintaining fair pricing, transparent ingredients, and consistently friendly service. Studies by Cornell University on hospitality trends show that trust in local establishments directly impacts repeat visits, and this is clearly reflected in how patrons describe their experience here.
If you’re exploring Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and searching for a place that blends flavorful dining with genuine warmth, this spot deserves attention. The combination of quality meals, welcoming staff, and a location central to town makes Estella’s more than just a restaurant—it’s part of the Lyndonville experience.

I’m a seasonal visitor to Lyndonville. Was eager to try Estella’s as I’m a hard core Pizza Man fan and wanted to try something new. I had the grilled shrimp and my fiancé had the steak tips. They were decent. Good portions. The onion rings are amazing. His mashed potatoes didn’t taste like real potatoes (instant?) and my shrimp was watery like they had just been thawed? But the service was spectacular. The ambience is nice. Beautiful lighting fixtures but brighter than I’d like dinner to be especially around the bar area. It had a very diner like feel and would be great for families but not first dates. I’d return for take out as the menu is loaded with many options. Reasonably priced. Great bar selection. Has something for everyone.
We stopped for breakfast on the way to the eclipse. The staff (and locals) were AMAZING!!! So fun, entertaining, and helpful! The omelets were wonderful -- full of ingredients and flavor. We placed our dollar on the wall while there -- we'll look for it next time we visit!
We took a drive on Saturday to check out lake Willoughby and we were starving by 1 as we headed back. A quick Google search of the area brought us to Estella's Bar and Grill. Super clean inside and the atmosphere was really nice. Bar with tables on one side and full seating on the other. Our server was awesome and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. Started with nachos and wowwwww, they were legit the best we've ever had. Made to order and you could tell. They were excellent so much so we made sure the kitchen staff knew. For lunch I had steak and cheese sandwich in a super soft perfect sub roll. Packed with awesome fresh ingredients. She had the burger and fries. A huge plate of shoestring fries were awesome and the burger cooked exactly how she wanted it. I know reviews can be subjective based on when you go or how busy they get but, I would bet their standards never change. It was roughly 2.5 hour drive home there after exploring further north so we will definitely be back as we hike and kayak a lot and can add this area to our list. We're bummed out because we couldn't remember our servers name but she was really really nice. Thank you Estella's for phenomenal food and service.
Excellent beverage and I had the 2 piece fried chicken dinner with a roll & 2 sides. Very good tasting batter on the chicken. I chose excellent homemade french fries and some coleslaw that was very soupy.
